Duncan, Willie Brown is very slick!!! In fact, we call him Slick Willie out here. It is quite confusing to have two Democratic politicians, both of whom look equally handsome on the cover of Time magazine, with the same, appropriate nickname, in office at the same time, isn't it?

I would not ever vote for Willie Brown. It is widely rumored here that he pimped his way through law school. Let's just say he is a bit too much of a player for me. Still, he is glamorous and gracious and good for San Francisco on a national and international level. However, if he cannot soon solve our deplorable MUNI public transport service problems, he will be out of office lickety split. The underground is dark and hot and scary when commuters get stuck in the tunnel, which happens to my husband almost every day. And the buses are so few and far between that "MUNI!!!!" is always the only word one has to utter no matter how late you are for work.

Jerry Brown, on the other hand, is exactly my favorite kind of candidate--intelligent, relatively full of integrity, radical. I hope he wins the Oakland mayoral race, and then on to the Democratic presidential campaign in 2000!!!!!!!!
