Only criminal scumbags can become US President according to the latest poll and last two elections ... thus, Jerry Brown is disqualified
a priori .

Christine,

Jerry Brown, on the other hand, is exactly my favorite kind of candidate--intelligent, relatively full of integrity, radical.

Regardless of whether or not one agrees with all or most of his ideas, and despite his "Governor Moonbeam" image, I must admire his (perhaps Quixotic) attacks on the establishment politicians and their corruption. The pervasive stench of corruption transcends party affiliation. Go Jerry! I used to think I was becoming more conservative in my old age, but radicalism appeals to me more and more, if we define radicalism in its pure sense of getting to the root of the problem.

Jack

Jerry Brown, on the other hand, is exactly my favorite kind of candidate--intelligent, relatively full of integrity, radical. I hope he wins the Oakland mayoral race, and then on to the Democratic presidential campaign in 2000!!!!!!!!

If I lived in Oakland, I'd vote for Shannon Reeves. He's young, black, Republican, and president of the local chapter of the NAACP. He knows how to get things done, believes people should work for what they get, and has good, fresh ideas. I heard him on a local talk show a year or more ago, and was very impressed. I was very happy when I heard he was running for mayor, although it looks as though he has little chance of winning this time around.

If (when) mayor Brown the 2nd wins, it'll be very entertaining to watch.
