All,

I'm going to make a prediction,

Cayanne will be out a lot sooner than the doom and gloom of late would lead you to think (I take partial responsibility for doom and gloom).

NSM is smart right now.. They are only making what they can sell (which isn't much granted) and are working quickly on the MXi and Cayanne based slot 1 solution.

Steve

Pravin,

For the existing socket 7 users, Cyrix MII-300 is the only chip that allows him to upgrade to PII 300 performance with a simple CPU switch.

To use .25u K6 and K6-2, most of them have to get new boards with 2.2 voltage. To upgrade to PII, the overpriced PII, expensive board and a new ATX case would make the upgrade quite expensive.

If users upgrade from their pocket, M-II 300 would be their choice. I hope that Cyrix would seize this Window opportunity well to squeeze the last milk from M2.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
