The title of the movie I made reference to in the previous post is "On The Beach" and it did star Gregory Peck. Australia was the location that was chosen to start anew after the nuclear war destroyed the west. I am searching Blockbuster Video for a copy of the movie to rent. I'll report back later after viewing it. That is if anyone is interested.

And do you know where salvation was for the characters at the end? Australia, yes Australia, the land down under. Why Australia? I don't know, I need to watch the movie again. I can not remember the name of the movie. I believe Gregory Peck was the star, a well know movie hero next to John Wayne, the founder of the US west. Actually, Pierre, there was no salvation for anyone in that movie. Australia, as the southernmost settled continent, was simply the last to go. You will recall that the US sub crew decided to go home even when they knew they would find only dead people, soon to include themselves. And I thought Gabby Hayes was the founder of the West!!
