Raymond,
This is an old thread with allot of history concerning the middle east and especially Israel. Maybe some background reading could help you to understand better what the intent is behind these posts. The Jewish people as well as their religion and country have been attacked constantly and I as you just did am defending the people and religion I am familiar with. All religions and groups of people have to bear the actions of a small percentage that claim that group. Christianity has a long history of persecution of especially the Jews and other groups. Also, they have extremist within the group like Jim Jones to bear with. It is true I am not intimately involved with Islam but I do understand that there are terrorist within that group. Tim McVeigh did not claim religous reasons for the bombing if he had they would have jumped on the anti-Christian platform that is more active here than the anti-Islam platform. As I have so often stated the entire group of people do not support these acts and are kind and good people. However Israel is accused here of killing many innocent people and my true point is that it is a struggle there that we who do not live there can fully understand. I empathize your feelings for these people but please understand that I am coming from the same emotion. There is very little understanding of the Jewish situation and very little interest in understanding from most people. I apologize if it has offended you but the intent was not to hurt anyone but to express some concerns of people I know that do live there. Would you support the statements made here that the majority of Palestinans are Christian? I find statements like that to be ridiculous and used to further the hatred here for the Jews.
In the past my husband and I have said we do not want to be labeled as Christian but as Jews that follow Yeshua as the Messiah. The reason for this is the association with so many extremist including the white sepremist etc... So I know that the majority in each group are innocent of the extremist and are gentle people.
Again, I apologize for offending or insulting anyone but encourage everyone to take it in context with the post and the entire dialog about Israel.
Welcome to the Ask God thread and hope you are prepared for allot more than this.
Nancy

Raymond, it is really nice that you dropped by the Ask God thread. I, for one, would be very much interested in knowing a lot more about Muslims. I have to be honest, however, and say that some of the really fundamentalist Muslim governments in the Middle East puzzle me, since my understanding is that they are not really carrying out Muslim teachings truthfully.

Perhaps you could write a post explaining the basic tenets of the faith?

Islam: from God or demon inspired?

Mr. Norris, you stated the following:
"First and foremost, a Muslim by definition is not against Christianity. Notice I say, "By definition.

Why is that? Well it's simple really. Islam is the religion of God to the Muslim. And one of the items of faith of a Muslim is to believe in the Books and religions sent down by God. Judaism, Christianity, etc. These were true messages sent from God to humanity."
------------------------

In responding to your comments, I will assume that you have read the Qur'an.

I. THE Qur'an teaches: that Jesus is not the Son of God and declares a curse on anyone who believes He is--meaning all Christians.

Sura IX: 30;
"...the Christians
Call Christ the son of God.
That is a saying from their mouth,
(in this) they but imitate
What the Unbelievers of old
Used to say. God's curse
Be on them: how they are deluded
Away from the Truth!"

Mr. Norris, in the light of this quote from the Qur'an, how can you say that "a Muslim by definition is not against Christianity"? Are you deliberately trying to deceive Christians, or are you just ignorant about the teachings of the Qur'an?

Christianity and the Holy Bible most definitely teach that Jesus is the Son of God!

II. The Qur'an teaches that Jesus was not crucified.

Sura IV:157
That they said in boast,
"We killed Christ Jesus
The son of Mary,
The Apostle of God";
But they killed him not,
Nor crucified him,
But so it was made
To appear to them,
and those who differ
Therein are full of doubts,
With no certain knowledge,
But only conjecture to follow,
For of a surety
They kiled him not:

Mr. Norris, in the light of this quote from the Qur'an, how can you say "Muslims are not against Christianity" and that "one of the items of faith of a Muslim is to believe in the Books and religions sent down by God. Judaism, Christianity, etc. These were true messages sent from God to humanity."

Christianity and the Holy Bible most definitely teach that Jesus is the Son of God who was crucified for the sins of mankind.

III. The Qur'an teaches that Jesus was not the divine Son of God but merely an Apostle.

Sura IV:171
"..Christ Jesus the son of Mary
Was no mor than
An apostle of God,
And His Word,
Which He bestowed on Mary,
And a Spirit proceeding
From Him: so believe
In God and His apostles.
Say not "Trinity":desist:
I will be better for yo :
For God is One God:
Glory be to Him:
Far Exalted is He above
having a son.........

Mr. Norris, in the light of these false and antichristian words from the Qur'an, how could you nake the absurd statement at the beginning of this post? Are you trying to deceive Christians about the true teachings of Islam? If you want ot convert Christians to your false religion an cult, why don't you speak truthfully about Islam's teachings? A religion that has to use deception to get members is a religion of demons.

Christianity and the Holy Bible most definitely teach that Jesus is the Son of God. They also teach that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all equally divine.
-----------------

An even more serious problem about Islam is: Islam has no means to wash away your sins and make you acceptable and presentable to an all holy and divine Allah. You will never be able to come in the presence of Allah without having your sins washed away and forgiven. God is an holy and perfectly righteous God and His children and company most also be holy and righteous. Jesus is the only sacarifice that God has ordained to make men holy and able to come in the presents of a holy and righteous God.

Islam has no sacrifice for sins. Islam has moral codes and tells people to follow moral laws but no man can obey laws because men are fallen and sinful by nature. Jesus recereates our human spirit and given us the Holy Spirit so that we can worship, love and come in the presents of God.
Islam has deveived your heart MR. Norris and now you are trying to spread your misery and darkness to other under the guise of a syrupy and sweet deception.
Your conscience has already told you that you have been using deception.

Islam, like modern Judaism, is an Auschwitz of the soul because they teache men to reject Jesus as the Son of God who took away the sins of mankind. Islam is an antichrist religion because they deny the divinity, the Crucifixion and the sonship of Jesus.

THERE IS NO SALVATION OUTSIDE OF JESUS CHRIST CRUCIFIED FOR THE SINS OF MANKIND.
