by virtue of the intel announcement alone, tomorrow the nasdaq has 30 points of upside potential. I think we may have seen the tech correction bottom -- particularly if Asia continues to trend higher (which I believe will be the case because the bank workouts will be finished in the next week or so).

David. About this pre earnings announcement. Sorry, that's what I heard in passing on CNBC. I have it on tape. I guess I better check it. Maybe I did not pay enough attention.

In any case, even your version, I guess you saw the press release, is better than nothing at this point. But like I said: I better go and check it again. I would not want to give Yaacov false hope. gg. He is asleep now anyway.

Dave, imo, Intel's little statement after hours today said a lot...We don't want our stock anywhere near $65!! By now, Intel knows if they're going to miss their quarter by a large amount (>10%). To me, today's statement indicates Intel will NOT miss Q2 by a lot...although they still could miss by a penny or 2..don't get hung up on the wording.

David. Re: Pre-announcement. I checked my tape regarding the story on CNBC.

Maria B. was saying that there were a lot of rumors flying around that Intel would announce a shortfall in earnings. She said people were increasingly worried about margins. Then, after the market closed, Intel came out and said that they had no plans for a pre-announcement today and had no plans to change their guidance to analysts.
