I spoke with a representative from Apple today and she indicated that they were on track to sell 100,000 PB this quarter.

I find this information highly suspect (not you, the information you receieved). Why? If Apple were to somehow let it's sales reps know of any sales projections, you can bet every mac news site would have had that all over their front pages. Next, if it were some "confidential" info. the rep had then you can bet a stranger customer would be the last person the rep would casually mention it too.

I think it's really a guessing game-unless dealers out there can really give us accurate info. on how sales are going for them.

If they sell 100,000 PBs in the quarter @ a net price of $2,000 each that is 2 billion in revs, + desktops. Didn't they do 1.5b last Q? If they were selling this many I would think they would be tooting their own horn.

Jonathan,

I hope the Apple rep gave you some straight info today. Believe me, my options depend on it! However, it is tough to stomach at this late date. Thanks for the comeback.
