Skiawal,

>> EXACTLY WHAT IS WSTL AND DSC'S RELATIONSHIP GOING FORWARD!!!! <<

I would also like to hear from the company on this topic. I'll assume Westell never had an agreement with DSC for DMT products. DSC stated they were working with ADI/AWRE for their DMT solution.

...Under a four-year contract with Bell Atlantic, DSC is working with Westell Technologies to make the Litespan 2000 ADSL-capable. In addition, DSC will provide Bell Atlantic with Westell's ADSL modems that will connect with customers' computers in offices and homes. DSC also will provide additional ADSL software and equipment...

A four year contact? The problem is BEL is looking for a DMT solution. Let's assume MZ is correct and BEL isn't going to deploy DMT until late 1999. The four year contract goes into 2001... we need to understand this contact or the DSC/WSTL relationship. The easy answer is multiple suppliers... (ie) DSC/Alcatel, CISCO, LU/WSTL, etc. The problem is DSC/Alcatel are in for DMT, we need a LU/Westell win to become one of the DMT suppliers for BEL.

I didn't have a major problem with the news release today. Granted it didn't cover the new DSC/ALA merger, but it did talk about Westell's entire product line... until later.

skiawal--
much as i hate to admit it, you are correct.

zionts needs to be planted in NYC for a month or so doing shows for the analysts. then the next month he needs to be in california talking the company up with analysts.

the company HAS GOT to do a roadshow, and they have to hold analysts hands. this 'well, we're above that...' crap is just not doing the job. no, i am not talking about hyping the company a la seamens, but they have to get the story out.

advertising in PC and technology magazines would be nice as well.

if anyone at WSTL is listening, send us some mail, and let us know. if you need help, we are here.

good luck to all,
trey
