David,

Agree w/ most of your advice, but 500K to start? I could retire on that amount. Why bother with daytrading? Or are you managing funds for other individuals?

Brent

David

What kind of trading do you do ? Do you scalp
for 1/8's,1/4's or 1/2's or do you do more
position trading. Do you use any type of system ?

Thanks

H.

Haunt thestreet.com, read everything Gary Smith writes

G.S. is an amateur trader. The only thestreet.com writer worth reading is Cramer.

David, How did you go about getting your starting capital of 500.000?
What was your starting base and how long did it take you to reach your goal? I would like to learn how to do this full time myself, but haven't a clue on how to get started. Any help that you may offer would be highly appreciated (sp).

"Always have CNBC within earshot." Why do you think that's important to do....evryone says that but never says why.

It seems that CNBC is often after the fact and does not have much in the way of being a leading indicator. In addition, the news could have a spin on it that adjusts the impact. Why not read the news on the wire and get it without that spin?

David, Thanks for the supportive information. I can imagine the mental/emotional aspect of leaving a steady income with a family of 5 could create alot of stress..to have to depend on yourself and you own skills rather than the security of a weekly paycheck. Do you have any tricks to share on this aspect of trading?

Fortunately, I just have myself to provide for. Although I have been in the helping profession for many years and thus will never have the $300,000 to begin with..I plan to start with less $ and build over time.
Thanks, electra
