bruce---i did pull a bunch of reports off the schwab link and had them faxed to me. what a great service. s&p has it rated with 4 stars and an accumulation rating. the three analysts that follow it have buy to strong buy recommendations out. they have been very agressive in the aquisistion area in the past year in an attempt to diversify and it looks as if that stratagy has been sucessful.
btw, i found two different beta ratings of .7 and .8, so i guess the measuring tools for establishing betas and such is evidently not an exact science.
maybe BDT is not a good AIM candidate, although i haven't convinced myself of that yet. maybe it's just a good buy and hold and i haven't convinced myself of that either.
getting back to that schwab page---the reports are numerous, timely, in-depth, free and they'll fax, e-mail or send them straight to your system. i've always enjoyed the "argus" report i receive monthly with statements. other "argus" reports are available through the web page.
i won't do anything this week and try to spend some more time this week-end reading my own tea leaves. i literally am stealing time these days. i'm just finishing up the aquisistion of a bolt on company to mine, i'm negotiating on a new and 3x's larger facility to consolidate and move into this fall and i'm still working on that "other" deal for moi.
june gloom has set in down here. we didn't see the sun at all today. i imagine it won't be too much longer before that's all we'll see. i read yesterday or so that the meteorologist who called the 'el-nino' so accuratly last year is predicting yet anohter change in our weather for next year. dry and colder. that equals drought and fires in my book. aren't we californians lucky to be living in paradise!!!
take care$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$s.k.

Hi Bruce, I've seen stocks with very low BETA values that also had lousy Stock Price Stability. Think of it as a counter-cyclical stock (moves the opposite way of the market) but with a large % swing.

Value Line (from a year ago) shows BETA to be 1.05 on BDT but also that it has a Stock Price Stability rating of 10 (out of 100). This means that it ain't gonna bore you, but that it will pretty much move with the market. There are some other automotive suppliers that have attracted my attention in the past and with which I've made good money. I'll list some to watch here later.

Best regards, Tom
