Win98 contains the bug fixes of OSR2 and a few more. It also has support for USB, multiple monitors, and some other goodies. Not a must have upgrade, but a definite improvement.

dmf - Re: " Please share information on Windows 95, OSR2 and whether or not you are resisting Win98. "

I have found Windows 95, OSR2, [Ver. 4.00.950.B] to be quite a bit more stable than Win 3.1 . Whereas I would generally have a major system fault once or twice weekly with Win 3.1, Windows 95 generally runs at least a week - or sometimes two - between problems. Moreover, with WIndows 95, you can generally "END" a task that crashes without having to re-boot the system.

The file system - with >8 Gig Hard drive capability - is a real treat, as is the long file name capability (always part of WIn 95).

As for Windows 98 - yes, I plan to upgrade to it after it has been out on the market 6 months or so. I'm not fond of Internet Explorer but I have seen reports that Netscape Communicator (my choice) runs just fine on Windows 98.

Paul

dmf, re: Windows95 OSR2 and Win98
If you want the enhancement advantages of FAT32 without buying a new machine, (and if you want to wait awhile on Win98), there are FAT16 to FAT32 converters available. I downloaded one off the internet for my wife's machine, and it installed and converted flawlessly. (Don't remember where I got it, was 6 mo's ago). The converter is also available as part of Partition Magic, and probably a number of other disk managers.

dmf,

IN an article I read today, MS claims to have fixed over 3,000 bugs in Windows 98 (bugs from 95).. that's pretty damned scarey.. and the reason I use NT ;-)
