Maxwell, you are so funny. Time Traveler is laughing its head off.

K6-2/300 has E-Coli in it

AMD obviously has a supply problem. That is going to look bad among their customers though.

Maxwell, Here's my theory, if there was a shortage of K6-2 3D, it's over. I ordered a K6-2 3D/300 system from Multiwave Computers on June 19, it was assembled and shipped today via Fedx. Another vendor I had talked with early in the month had told me K6-2 3D were not available.
They emailed me Saturday that K6-2 3D systems are now available for immediate delivery. Does this represent the market, I don't know. I do know I am looking forward to playing with my new toy!
Best Regards, Harve

Maxwell,
Re -- K6-2-300 unavailable..

I think the E-coli theory fits the best. Given that any tier 1 company which uses/plans on using the thing gets diseased(Compaq, IBM, HP).

Given that K6-2-266 is readily available, while K6-2-300 is not, points to the exact same problem as the K6-233 on .35u (K6-200 was available K6-233 was not).

All AMD has to do, to yield high qtys of K6-2-300 is to jack up the voltage a little.
