And you are exactly correct.

The quote is actually the enemy of your enemy is your friend......sometimes?
The best example I could think of was us buddying up with Iran while they were keeping Iraq busy. Again, brilliant foreign relations strategy but extremely naive if we believed Iran was actually a friend, which of course we didnt. It was just practical.

Whoa... where did that come from? The Russians were the main factor in Germany's defeat. It might be better to ask the question, , "Could the Stalinists and Russian Patriots have defeated the Nazis without without Western aid?" instead of stating as fact that we didn't need them to win the war.

I don't see how England and the US would have ever set foot on the continent again, had it not been for the existence of that vast, wermacht-consuming cauldron the Germans knew as the East Front.

Have you read "Hitler Moves East" or "Scorched Earth" by Carrel (sp?)? Fascinating...
