Ga Bard, This is NOT a criticism of any one individual, merely pointing out that all of us, including Midland, bear responsibility for our current personal situation. I am quite sure I will get flamed for this post, but here goes anyway... Your response to my previous post, was as follows: "Midland has and did take immediate responsibility when they had the proof. Unlike this board where we exercise our freedom of speech and hindsight, Midland has to deal with the black and white provided which has all been sent to the proper authorities." Your response addresses the current situation and as far as I know it is a correct statement. And, it would seem to be a perfect IR response. For the record, though the only thing we really know, as you have often said, is what is in black and white. That would be the Press Releases! And they have in the past contained what are now alleged to be less than truthful statements. However, in my post, I was not referring to the current situation. I was referring to the period prior to Dan Fisher's "exposure." The fact is that Midland must not have validated all of the claims of Arcon and/or Dan Fisher before that. I did not, and do not, intend to dwell on the past, but hindsight can be helpful. I was merely pointing out that it is NOT only Dan who is to "blame" for what has happened to the shareholders. Midland can blame Dan if they choose, but it was Midland who brought Arcon and Dan into the shell and thus to the shareholders. So, I believe, they must bear the responsibility for that, for what it is worth. Sure, Dan is alleged to have lied, but Midland had the responsibility to validate whatever Arcon/Dan presented to them. As just a simple example, the "ownership" of the patent and the "world-wide rights." As we know there seems to have been several other unvalidated "facts" as well. But on a more personal level and as individuals we all must take responsibility for my own actions. And, quite honestly, I have acted like one of those "sheep" that you refer to. However, if there are sheep, there also must be shepherds - and this thread has had several. But what I have learned from this experience is that even the shepherds are often sheep and should be questioned, no matter how much they may put you down (a Geeez here and Geeez there)! What do I mean by this? Simply that at one point Dan Fisher was the shepherd to many people on this thread. Don't believe me? Then start with the letter that opens the thread. Then go to May 12 and reread from post 1397 and forward. All the things that Dan is alledged to have said in his own defense were then reported by several people as "FACT" even though there was nothing in "black and white." Then jump to June 10 and you will see where those same "facts" then become "lies" to the same people. Same with Midland. What ever a press release said became fact. We saw such things as "Fact 1 is blah, blah, blah! Fact 2 is blah, blah, blah! etc." Then later found that blah was real BS! It has often been said, in this "arena" you should trust nobody. Never-the-less some shepherds not only trusted Dan, but posted information provided by him as fact! Some even went as far as to "put down" sheep who questioned the validity of some of these "facts." What should Midland learn from this? The same thing I have learned from this? You can't trust anyone else's facts. We (and Midland) must acknowledge our own responsibility and use the experience to improve our DD (and ourselves) in the future. There were, and are, a core of people on this thread who more or less became the shepherds....that is IF one must divide between shepherds and sheep! As far as I know, they were all "good shepherds", they were all of good intention.....they provided the core of the essential DD that was done on this investment. I acknowledge that and appreciate it. At this point, some members of that core have now questioned their own and others actions, and I think rightfully so. How else could one learn from the experience? Unfortunately, some of the others of that core have flamed them (and then some) for this questioning. Others have shown by their civil and helpful manner that they have accepted their responsiblity and are willing to help find the answers and are ready to move on. I have much more respect for those who question and accept personal responsibility. What a lesson is Life! We should all bear in mind that for every person that is "right", there is NOT necessarily another who is "wrong!" Or the other way around. Some times there just isn't any right and wrong. We should learn from our mistakes and THEN move on. No progress, at least personal progress, can made without first acknowledging our own weaknesses. Now that I have gotten this far I realize that maybe I should have marked this as "Off Topic." On the other hand, what started off as my feelings about Midland seems to have drifted to what we all need to acknowledge for our own growth. Therefore, assuming we all need to grow, or even grow up, it is not really off topic. Back to my usual silence.. Good Luck to all Bill
