Christine, America is not a very racist place. That's just another one of your "social realities". So now your saying that the country was founded by "White Christians" huh?? I thought it was founded by all your pagen Wicca brothers and sisters. Is that what you would call another whooopsie! :-) I never said I was against apologizing for the Indian atrocities. You want to apologize? Fine, that and $2.00 bucks will buy a snoquamish tribe member a Latte'! Let me ask you this Christine. When should the country start looking forward instead of backward in it's pursuit for "social justice". If there is one poor Native American 10000 years from now, should we still feel bad for them about what the government did to them thousands of years ago? Time has passed, ugly crimes have been committed against a slew of American races. I say let's join hands and look to the future with hope and pride in what America has become, and is doing, and not focus ALL our attention on the past. What kinds of things would really help the Native American populations today. 1. Good schools, that's why we need to privatize the school system and give them vouchers to pick a school like the one Bill and Hillaries child attended. 2. Good paying jobs, they come with a decent education, which is sorely lacking in the government schools on reservations. 3. The spirit of entrapeurnership, you don't get that depending on the government for subsidies. Real help requires real solutions. It might make you and some "Ultra liberal lefties" feeel good to apologize, but it accomplishes next to nothing in the way of helping Native American families. Michael
