Any specific names of companies? Do these companies have web sites? Do you know anything about their products? Do they have any alliances with Echelon or other companies comprable to Motorola? <<It appears to me, and others who are far more knowledgeable in this area, that ALYA offers an opportunity to experiment on the cheap, while waiting for more serious and far more financially stable companies to get up a head of steam.>> Who are your "other" sources? Can you share the qualifications of the people with whom you spoke? Believe me in the not too distant future they will.>> Does "appetizer" imply that ALYA, in your opinion, would be bought out? Or is this just a perjorative? Which other LONworks Associate members do you think will enter this market? Any specific companies you think will hop in this market? A market which, I think we both agree is a very big market. Plus why if it is such a large market haven't more companies gotten involved? Platform compatability has never precluded companies from testing markets before for example with modems, vcrs, operating systems, chips and storage devices. Again with such a large potential market why would any company wait for an industry platform with this device before pushing products to try to push the industry in their particular direction? Or if Echelon is determining the platform, wouldn't a company allied with Echelon have an advantage over other companies that didn't?
