Hi Charliss: I for one, like your posts, sometimes odd, sometimes funny, sometimes intelligent, most of the time thought provoking.

What worries me is that you put yourself in a way in the same boat as these individuals who make an income in trying to vaporize bb stock investments of others. I guess am trying to say that, please, don't underestimate those of us that do not use bunny slippers. To take it to the absurd, it's not like i think you are twins with A10!

Posting on an SI thread dedicated to a stock is not an issue of freedom of speech, moral laziness, tolerance of differences, it's about something much more elemental: trying to make money and communicating with others (and against others!!) that are trying the same with the same stock.

If you accept this as the basic premise, i dare say that many of the people who post here regularly are also able to engage with others in a variety of other subjects too. I don't think that lack of freedom of expression was/is an issue for these people

The issue is that the playing field is not level, and those that play the "no" game have it too easy.

If the title of the threads is "no bashers" why did we have so many?
Why didn't these people show self restraint?

Why don't they start a thread "I suspect of D.."? I'm sure many people will read it. And, in a thread like that they can have all the little ignore buttons they want, if we could have the same in ours.

Please keep posting your thoughts and perceptions

have a great day

Charliss,

I agree with your idea, but disagree with your conclusion. By providing the infamous "Ignore Button", it does not take away anything from you or anyone else. You still have the right to use or not use said button. What it does provide, is the choice for others, who right now do not have a choice. Everyone talks about the freedoms that might be lost, "WHERE"???, how can you lose freedoms by being given a choice. I have seen over the years in our own judicial system how trying to protect the rights of criminals have stripped "ALL" rights from the victims, the innocent who were preyed upon. So while I will scream to protect your choice to use the button or not, I will also advocate for the button, so that I can make my own choice that I do not have at this time, as without the button there is no choice too make.

P.S. Edited- I would not ignore your posts. While sometimes bizzare(sp), always thought provoking......

Good post, Charliss.

Like you, I'm alarmed by what I see as a growing desire on the part of even some intelligent and educated posters to ignore, or, worse yet, censor anyone whose views do not accord perfectly with their own.

Why do they find diversity of opinion so threatening? I'm always interested in hearing the other side of the argument. I thought that was normal, but perhaps I'm wrong...
