<<...has anyone discussed/recalled the runup in price just prior to last quarters earnings announcement? How is the stock action same/different from that time? If it runs up again, will it fall just as fast again?>>

In my opinion, if the backlog shows further decrease from last quarter, the stock will suffer. However, if the backlog shows any increase, the stock might take off. This would indicate a bottom or turn around.

Hey TI2, Que Paso, Con Queso, or what ever.... I just remarked that the strong last couple of days is similar to the move in February (7 strong days) the move in April (9 up days) and this time (5 strong days). I know the move in April was a runup to earnings, the cause of Feb's run -no clue. My guess/opinion is that people were expecting a earnings surprise (for the better) and that and maybe some short covering caused the April run (from 21 to 27 with an interday high close to 30). I think the same thing is happening here and as we go along, the higher probability that an upside surprise will happen (unless things get worse). I take Cymer management at its word. Things will be flat for the next two (including this) quarters. Now the 64k question is, does flat mean 5 cents as projected for this quarter or does it mean 9 cents like last quarter?. This is what will make each earnings release more and more interesting. I think I saw somewhere that forward earnings are projected to be nearly triple of trailing earnings (something like 30 something cents to 87 cents) -Who knows, I'm rooting for Zeev's turnips to 22..... -Neal
