Excuse me, Cool, but what is "CC"??? They said nothing about Asia in the financial results press release.

Raptor,

I think "Cool" is blowing smoke at us. "CC" stands for conference call, and anyone who has held PSFT for more than one quarter knows that PeopleSoft doesn't hold conference calls.

You are correct, the earnings report said nothing negative about Asia. On the contrary, international revenues grew faster than domestic revenues --

Revenues from international operations increased by 100% to $46.4 million or 14% of total revenues for the second quarter of 1998, compared to $23.2 million or 13% of total revenues for the same quarter of the prior year.

Mr. Raptor,

CC = Conference Call.

The company did state that Asian pressures did have an effect on new software sales, but that it was mostly offset by the "tremendous growth" in consulting.

If you read the press release, you got one thing. If you listened to the conference call, you got another, because the people asking questions were all over them, and they did a poor job of answering. It was shocking, because they are usually very sharp and polished. That is the reason for the stock drop--the drop in software sales, and the fact that they blamed Asia (partially), and tried to emphasize that the consulting would offset any Asian problems.

That was the first time I even considered Asia affecting PSFT. Bad move on their part. Should have kept quiet.

Regards,

G
