I'm expecting the Conference Call to be extremely bullish on THQ's future. <EOM>

Apparently they wrote off almost the entire cost of the GameFX acquisition.

No big deal - really all it does is increase the Additional Paid in Capital account and decrease the Retained Earnings (both components of Shareholders Equity). Problem is that you have to run it through the P&L to get it to the Retained Earnings line. Probably makes sense to get rid of it now, rather than have to explain a portion of it for the next XX years.

Still looking at the rest of the report.

Good Morning.

Three things disappoint me this morning. THQ fails to made 40+ cents before charge. Revenue less than 30 million and WCW less than 30%. It is a 3 for 2 split, I hate 3 for 2 <g><g>. Although it is still a very strong quarter as ERTS noted "Q2 is traditionally the slow summer season for the industry".

Hopefully we can get a precise shipment of Quest64, Granstream Saga and WorldCup 64. We need to know whether sales of WCW is declining rapidly or THQ just trying to increase reserve for first half of 1999. Or in worst case (not that bad actually), Sales of WCW is inflated during Q1.

For those SMTCer, MCRL release earning:

"we remain cautiously optimistic for the next quarter as we have begun to see strengthening in our order patterns, primarily from Asia,'' said Zinn.
