Geoff, I like the Sept 40 call options. Personally, I like to buy calls that are already in the money. In the case of MO, the 40 strike should provide strong support now. Unless something unexpected occurs, I think we have clear sailing here to the 45 strike, where there is a lot of resistance. At this point, a lot of big blocks are flowing into MO.
We spoke on this thread previously on the value of a dividend and steady earnings in an economy where growth is slowing. Like most humans, the Bear does not like the smell of Smoke. His claws can't get close to MO. MO gets an A+ rating in a down market. It is truely a safe haven.
