Of course everyone has at least some positive contributions. Then again, the space program and NASA was primarily a response to the Soviet Union, presented in Kennedy's typical sugar coated fashion. Any correlation to the US dominance in high-tech was certainly an unintended consequence of Kennedy's idea rather than any far-sighted technological vision.

Political discussions on SI? Another indicator of a bear market?

Ridiculous.

Kennedy was a dilettante and historians are lowering his rank with each survey. The only thing that saved his reputation was the way his life ended. At the time of his death he was running behind and there was little prospect that the Mafia could rig another election for him.

Like Clinton, Kennedy was not much more than a PR president, with little actual substance.
