I agree with your assessment that WorldCom needs to focus on obtaining companies that provide telecommunication services to corporations. However, I must point out that they have already accomplished this. Though it is overlooked, the acquisition of CompuServe Network Services, which has now merged with ANS and Gridnet to form WorldCom Advanced Networks has provided WorldCom with a high end data sales force located in around 35 offices throughout the world. CNS has consistently been rated by Gartner Group as a leader in fully managed remote access and high speed private networking solutions.. this sales force provides Worldcom with a local sales team to further its data sales to leading corporations..

MCI will provide a similar model..
