Let's parse this press release....

> ALYA's Advanced Security Management System is the first LonWorks based building automation system to be installed in Echelon's head office.

> This initial order will showcase the benefits of LonWorks and ALYA's security management system to the building automation and controls industry and Echelon's corporate visitors from all parts of the globe. <

Note the word "first" in the first paragraph above. Until clarified, I would have some concern over whether this means that Echelon is going to install demonstration systems from various manufacturers within their building ... even possibly just in a demo room ... so that they can showcase Echelon's products in a wired application.

How long has the Echelon building been in existence? What have they done for security until now? Are they paying ALYA for the system ... or is ALYA providing it for free for use in the demonstration room?

This could just be monumentally poor writing in the press release ... or it could be an extremely clever, and blatant, attempt to piggyback on Echelon's IPO, which happened to be yesterday.

Perhaps we'll be able to find out which, once things open for business here on the West Coast in a couple of hours. But in the interim, I personally plan to take no action based solely on this release.
