McMannis - Re: "My sources tell me that AMD is producing at a rate much GREATER than 3.2-3.7 million chips/qtr. I mean A LOT more..."

Judging by your past information from your private sources, I would not believe them.

What do you make of AMD's DELAY in shipping the K6-3 until next year?

Didn't Jerry Sanders say that the K6-3 was up and running in ther laboratory - and had a die size of only 117 sq. mm?

And now this upstart Mendocino from Intel - with a much larger die size at 165 ñ sq. mm. - is going into full production on August 24 at least 4 months ahead of the K6-3.

If I were you, I'd re-verify all those glowing yield reports.

Paul

My sources tell me Intel will go on a marketing blitz a day before the launch of Celeron II (Aug. 24). Just in time for the Fall/Back to School season! I'm sure no major OEM will want to be left holding the K6 bag <ggg>. How is AMD going to compete with no marketing???
Looks like demand is AMD's problem now, not supply. A much BIGGER problem, imo.

Jim,

You don't suppose that AMD is playing opossum do you? <G>

When was the last time Jerry held back good news (even when it wasn't true)?
