And a fine opinion at that....I am just wondering if the internet and the $7 trades aren't bringing in an investor who is not of the same skill level as in the past.

The advent of the $7 trade has made daytraders out of housewives, college students, and others who have not previously been exposed to the market and the manipulation that surrounds certain stocks.

Let's say in a chat room....Joe Harvard hears about CRAP...a $10 stock that someone is hyping ...so he goes onto Suretrade and buys 100 shares. This entitles him to take on some secret identity on the Yahoo CRAP message board and another i.d. on the MF board. He hypes away.....but enter a professional group of short sellers raising issues such as; fraud...scam...etc..and Joe gets scared. He, as well as his new found friends, put their shares on the block at market and the MM moves down to pick up the 100 share sell orders....this downtick triggers rapid selling by other daytraders....MM's taking out stops and so forth...Joe is then back in that chat room screaming SELL!!! (Of course this example is relevant to the BB and small float / small cap market.......or is it?)

The average age of the professional portfolio manager is I believe 30ish.....He hasn't seen a real bear market....what if he doesn't have nerves of steel? Oh well I could ramble on....but I am intrigued by conspiracy theories, and day by day I am beginning to believe this market is one.... Am I way off base??? FWIW Just one little guys opinion.
