What a great, succinct (though technical) description of this particular Mac advantage! I've found that this is usually the hardest thing to really explain to someone without having a Mac and a PC sitting next to each other during the explanation. It's one of those intangible things, I guess; chalk it up to user experience.

It's interesting that we wound up recycling this old argument today. Dan Gillmor from the "San Jose Mercury News" posed a question in today's paper that has puzzled Mac users for years, why do Windows users put up with crappy software?: sjmercury.com.

Gillmor is even more perplexed that Windows users can experience problem after problem, waste days getting their systems right, and still pronounce themselves "delighted" with Microsoft's latest offering. Amazing.
