<< Mark (from God),>>

Wow! I've never had that happen to me before! And I havent even started meditating! LOL

I will try to send you a PM this evening, if possible. I dont want to answer on this thread because my answers will upset some people, and I dont have the time to argue about it over the next hundred or so posts:-)

Hi Steve, Bob & Emile,

It appears that your entire discussion is nearly summarized in the book of Galatians where the Judaizers were preaching a false gospel to the Churches of Galatia. Paul describes, as I'm sure you both know, that there is only one true gospel: faith in Jesus Christ and the Spirit that is freely given to you upon accepting his gift. The book also describes how the promise to Abraham was made prior to the old covenant or Moses' law. Therefore, the promise of the new covenant (fulfilled in Jesus) was made before the old covenant. Then why the law (old covenant)? Paul answers this question by saying (please excuse me because I am going from memory w/out my Bible right now) that the law leads us to the need for a new covenant. The old testament tells us that we need a redeemer. That redeemer is only named in the new testament.

With this in mind, Bob's work with Steve cannot be complete until Steve fully accpets the New Testament. The Old Testament should have left Steve with a feeling of emptiness that only the new testament can provide.

My 2 cents.

In the Lord's precious name,
Mark

Good morning Bob-Steve

(Do you guys work together?)

I have decided to answer you on the thread instead of via PM. I dont want to appear to be hising from the reality of my beliefs.

The first paragraph we agree on, we dont have to go over that, just congratulate ourselves on how smart we are:-) (just kidding, I cant help being somewhat of a smart-***, its a sign of the emotionally immature, a disease with which I am unfortunately afflicted)

NOw to your other points. To save time from the tedious task of typing(at which you can probably tell I am not proficcient) I will just refer to your numbered points. HOpe that doesnt create a problem.

1. Soul evolution, doesnt have to be inexact. Many religions believe in it, and many people pracitice spirituality with that thought. My own beliefs are somewhat of an amalgamation of other beliefs, and what feels right to me, so it can sound inexact at times, because it is still evolving within me.
The point is that we both believe that God's end goal is to reconcile us with him. How that happens is where we might disagree.

2.I disagree that love for those who love you is nothing special. the love I share with my family is incredibly spoecial, and I think God would agree(although he didnt mention it to me in the post he addressed to me recently on Ask God:-) )

I agree that love for those who curse is also special and also more difficult.

I did not say that God love should follow a path we set forth. As the embodiment of unconditional love, a think the path is too wide to descrobe properly, only to say that it oculd contain no action that wasnt born out of love.

WE may disagree that Christs dying for the cause of washing away the sins of our ancestors is the greates love of all. I mean no disrespect to you or your beliefs, please believe that, I just respectfully disagree as to the need for it.

Soul Evolution

WE may agree that the soul evolve along a path towards reunification for God. It appears that we disagree on how long this evolution takes place.

YOu ask why we dont remember past lives. some people claim to, I personally dont, so I cant attest to the veracity of others claims.
However, this does not disallow the possibility that your soul remembers, while your physical body doesnt. There could be many reasons for that.

You also state that Pride is the motivation for believeing that we can evolve our souls. I am not sure that I agree with that, alothough I believe that some pride, in the form of self confidence and self worth is a good and healthy thing.

I dont think pride is the motivating factor, becausing evolution is a natural state. I amnot talking about man from monkeys typoe of evolution(we dont have enough time for that discussion:-) ) But the ability to evolve our thoughts, philosphies, likes, loves, morals, etc., are a basic foundation fo personal growth. that form of evolution is a relaity and a positive thing. The evolution of the soul can be just a snatural and just as wonderful.

Thank You for being patient and waitng for my response. As always, I enjoy the tone and content of the conversation.

Mark
