Laugh for the day:

The senior investment analyst for DLJ came on MoneyLine last night and told Lou Dobbs straight faced that he anticipates the DOW will break 10,000 by years end.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

OK, stop laughing! This is the brokerage said AMZN would hit 175, so obviously DLJ has a great sense of humor.

In other news, Zaxbowow, senior canine analyst for IBA securities, who gave AMZN, at 142 1/2, his SELL THE FARM AND SHORT THIS TANKER rating, recommended selling ASND at 52 last monday, is STICKING TO HIS GUNS despite the apparent support AMZN saw today, and is calling for a 30 point drop in AMZN stock price, by Friday of this week.

Zaxbowow hopes you all remember this prediction, unless of course, it proves to be false.

Happy bottom feeding folks! There will be some great bottom feeding opportunities to be had in the market over the next couple of weeks!

If enough deep pockets believe AMZN will succeed, then it may happen.

When they make acquisitions, like today, that I cannot fully comprehend, I interpret that to mean that I do not have a full vision of what this company is going to be.

There is another window opening up for insiders to sell, if they so choose. But I am betting, that, like before, there won't be a lot of selling (on a percentage basis).

The bears could be right that AMZN could collapse. But I see a significant risk in shorting the stock insofar as we don't really know management's master plan.

AMZN certainly has succeeded in winning the confidence of a lot of deep pockets with connections. I wonder how much these connections matter. The deep pockets seem content to bankroll a lot of losses.

Betting on Bezos,
Tom D

Whoever was shorting AMZN as a hedge against overall market declines must be feeling rather angry today.

I think Amazon management has the savvy to
grow this company in ways you and I can't tell now. I am not long
AMZN at present but am looking for an oppurtunity to get in.

Anindo,

Savvy is the incorrect word. They paid $90 million for
members.planetall.com

and the registration section does not work unless one goes specifically to registration. In other words, it is broken. Secondly, all features of the site is the same as software that one receives with their computer. The computer software has the advantage of not needing to be connected to the net for a reminder.

The site is simplistic. Very easy to write and worth about $5K excluding the server.

Glenn

Yes Glenn, Amazon.com is not a one product company! They are a NO product company! Or at least any product that they produce or add significant value to.
