Jon- two points make a line, three points make a line and a bad data point.

Just a little modeling joke, there.

Given one piece of evidence, it's damn hard to extrapolate the future, but you can make some guesses.

That's a lot better than having no data points.

Has anyone figured what 500,000 iMacs will do to the "market share" number? I'm really ignorant about the hard numbers, but I guess it will cause a stir when some marketing group releases the result-- we ain't dead.

I can't wait for some more "no floppy" posts.

I don't mean to throw a monkey wrench into the cogs of your hype machine Phil, but to try and extrapolate iMac sales from 1 weeks worth of pre orders is absurd.

Thanks for pitching in Jon, as I'm away on holidays.

Where is Eric with his self-righteous tone when this type of bull hype is posted?

Jon,

You are a typical bonehead. Your argument point is no base at all.
Based on your attitude, you even can fight with professors in the
systems engineering/operations research regarding why they have
forecasting modeling and simulation. Show us your credential
regarding either statistics or stochastics models.
