Come on, Zeev.
I am beginning to think that DrJoe has you pegged. Do you really believe there is a conspiracy between management and the shorts?
I am LOL.
You act so offended that they spent $20MM to buy stock when they will need 1,000MM to develop the fields. The 20MM is chicken feed when you are talking about a billion.
And, if they need the Billion, then they will have definitely found something worth borrowing for.
Have you completely lost it?
What about cash flow from oil sales? 20,000 BOPB is already there.
If they need a billion, then they will certainly have significantly higher production coming onstream from new wells.
Gosh, when you look at the big picture, the 132MM of worry you have is peanuts.
To facilitate the "bandits" the "bandits" have to exist. They don't.
I still say the buyback was prudent and smart. We'll see who is right when the wash is out of the washer.

>Last, they stated that it will eventually require a billion bucks to get those fields exploited, what are they doing spending this money on stock, when they will have to go back to the well for much more? They are in essence facilitating the task of the bandits by guaranteeing a buyer for the shorts being laid out. It is nothing short of a travesty and the SEC should be after their buts.<

What utter nonsense.
The stock is on sale. They are supporting the stock price, instilling investor confidence and creating shareholder value.
Maybe you should be investigated for alledgedly attempting to manipulate Harken Energy by creating paranoic conspiracy theories.

Zeev -- about the billion bucks.

<< Last, they stated that it will eventually require a billion bucks to get those fields exploited, what are they doing spending this money on stock, when they will have to go back to the well for much more >>

I know it's a fine point, but it helpful to not lose sight of it: HEC DIDN"T say they'd go to capital markets for the $1 Bn. As I recall, about $800 MM was expected to be project-related bank loans, once they had proven reserves to be developed. Then another piece was coming out of cash flow from developed wells. I honestly don't recall what piece of the $1000 MM was expected to come from the capital markets -- and it probably depends on interim drilling results -- but it was a small fraction of the total.

Joe

p.s. Gonna be on vacation, incommunicado, for two weeks. Have fun while I'm away.

I really think we should establish a thread to talk about or with Zeev. Its becoming a bit tedious to come on everyday and read the same old stuff. Lets move past this and get on with the subject at hand. Regardless of the action of HEC what has happened this week is a revived confidence in the actions of HEC. let's don't destroy the first thing they have done to entice new investors and pacify current investors.
