Exactly...

Jeez this guy has so much love for Apple, he rewrites History.

A lot of the great ideas for the MAC, like the GUI, mouse, trashcan, even the 1 color desktop [grey], was lifted from the Xerox 860 STAR Deskstation.

I know, I used to SELL them, and I had a mac in 1984, and remarked on the incredible similarities.

Hell, Apple even copied the pricing scheme form the Xerox Star , it charged TOO MUCH for it's machines, and lost the market to WinTel.

I will never forgive Apple, and Jobs, for abandonning the Apple II owners/market. the bastard never gave us a chance to upgrade to the MAC, and abandonned us.

F*** Him.

I will never buy a MAC again. Viva Wintel

My new P2-400, with WIN98 Kicks serious butt !!

What a chip... Wow! 3-4 seconds load times, including splash screens

Take care Paul
Jean

Obviously you feel that Zorg the caveman was responsible for inventing the automobile. I rather give that credit to Henry Ford and other early car makers.

Have you see the ALTO? The interface and API bears little resemblance to our operating system today.Take a look on your Windows desktop. Fundamental things that makes GUI OS what it is today like drag-drop came straight from Apple.

Paul,
RE:"Jobs's visit and tour of PARC and his "lifting" of these ideas has
been catalogued in many, many books."

And on video tape as well. Still, I have to give Apple some credit for seeing the future and going with it.
