TTFlier says: "The information age is OVER. We are in the age of interconnectedness."

Partially correct. Interconnectedness accelerates the spread of information, the electronic publishing of more information, and ultimately the need for that information to be managed.

Look at what's going on with gathering info about web site activity. E-commerce is still in its infancy. The demand for more intelligent gathering, managing, analyzing of this info will accelerate tremendously. Data warehousing has barely crossed the chasm. All of this means more opportunities for DB. In addition, many of the site licenses of the early to mid-nineties are expiring.

Informix's PS operation is very small. By growing this and aggressively going after E-commerce and data warehousing, you will see real top-line growth and increased profitability.....and a stock price much higher than today. That's what Bob F. is committed to doing. I agree with him.

The information age is moving from linear information to dimensional information.

I don't want to praise IFMX too much, because I am still accumulating
shares. (wrote 10 sept 10 puts TODAY)

For reading about spatial data look at:

Anyway, another advantage about Informix is a lot of shorts and not much institutional holdings. This combination is fairly bearish when you have a stock with such a bright potential.
