<<Recall that Ollie North took the Congress to the cleaners because (even though he was CONVICTED OF LYING TO CONGRESS), he won in the court of public opinion.>>

I hate to undercut your entire argument here, but the polls had nothing to do with North walking. Quite the opposite really, he walked because of legal proceedings. Although, he was convicted, his conviction was overturned on appeal, where he successfully argued that congress violated their immunity agreement.

So the polls will again have little to do with the legal proceedings that will surely bring down Clinton.

This is a serious question about the Independent Counsel Law. I have been told that the Attorney General has the power to end the investigations of an Independent Counsel, or rather, set into motion the procedures by which such termination would occur. Is this an accurate understanding of the Independent Counsel Law? And if so, has Ms Reno ever requested the termination of Mr Starr's inquiry?

Thanks and best wishes,
Lel

Doughboy,
I think myself and pezz were the only people on this thread to counter the arguments of the majority (who want Clinton out). I havent seen pezz in a while, and Im a Dellite so Im a little busy today. Also there are a bunch of other political threads you might want to try - a libertarian thread thats pretty good and a couple other Clinton threads which might be more balanced.

If you can't make the distinction between a hero like Ollie North putting his life and career on the line without any thought of personal gain to protect our interests and this sociopath getting service from an underling intern on Government property, your education needs attention.
