Both Bald & Ibex should do more a LOT research on Tellabs before shorting, unless you wish to lose more money.

Ibexx,

some of us have been attacked for talking aloud about obvious facts, namely drops in market prices of both CIEN and TLAB. As I see from other threads, frustration is around, and even much negative sentiment build up towards TLAB.

Secondly in this overall bear market, which tend to worsen in light of russia and japan also mergers are unlikely to happen at prevailing prices. Firms act - to some extent, like investors and if I can get one for half a dollar why spend more than one? And the motivation to pay a strategic price, im terms of higher premiums must be carefully weighted against own shareholder's attitude.

I consider the TLAB jump not only a technical correction. The chance of imminent dilution has been lowered with the postponement. Its clear that TLAB becomes the target now, thus making it a difficult short you always have to pay attention to. For me it is also a new experience as I never shorted TLAB till now and have to study TLAB trade patterns a bit. I think I will wait and see, as there is really much risk in front of the next shareholder vote.
