Hal, Re: Perceived Lack of Software Hurting iMAC Sales

I don't know if the software issue would hurt iMAC sales
but one thing I know is that it is much more expensive to
equip a PowerMac(modem cable is more expensive, SCSI cable
is more expensive, almost all peripherals are more expensive).

In the case of iMAC, I don't know how they are going to solve
this problem.

Hal, I expect that most people actually use perhaps 10-20 programs and Mac and Wintel are quite capable for all uses.
unsophisticated users cite this reason that they have been fed by Wintel salesmen, as usual FUD lives on (fear, uncertainty and doubt)
Name a task that there is only a Wintel program for (an App, not a utility that is CPU specific, many utilities are not needed for Mac as they lack the problems the utility was intended to fix)

On second look I've become rather impressed with the iMAC myself and I'm not easily impressed. I understand it will control 3 ide HD's and 128 SCSI ones, for instance. I understand someone has already designed a separate under case box that you can add extra peripherals to.
Still the 15" built in monitor isn't very impressive.
