Linda Tripp is TOAST! And I'm pleased as punch because this is the beginning of the assault on Ken Starr's morally bankrupt investigation, one leg at a time. Let's remember, the Lewinsky allegations have come up because of right-wing financed witchhunts in the wilds of Arkansas by fly-by-night journalists and thugs in trenchcoats. This wrought Paula Jones, Susan (fetus-killer) Carpenter MacMillan, and the Rutherford "Institute" (yeah, I'd like to do an investigation on their tax-exempt status). Then Tripp, Lucianne Goldberg and a bevy of other scum who crawled out of the mud to see if they could get the "Paula Jones treatment"--your own personal lawsuit against the Prez, hush money and a nose job. Then, Starr, who had no business getting involved in this skullduggery in the first place, wallows in the mud altogether and gets in really tight with Tripp. Then--in a truly scumbag move, Starr lures an unprotected, unrepresented tangential target of investigation into a trap--ACROSS STATE LINES IN VIRGINIA--and wires up Tripp and Lewinsky's personal conversation (with a warrant? without a warrant?). An ethical prosecutor would have told Tripp--"Lady, you have broken the law, and I don't want to hear what you have to say. It's none of my business; I wasn't hired to delve into our President's private life. And it's none of your business. And I'm afraid I'll have to refer this matter to the authorities in Maryland if you persist." Instead of doing what was ethical, above-reproach, Ken Starr fully participated and legitimatized the illegal investigative techniques of Linda Tripp. Starr's apparent rationalization is "sure it's illegal but if I can get Tripp and Lewinsky to repeat everything over again in a legal wiretap" I've got the President. Well I'm sorry, that's not what America's about, and I can't wait for the media to start reporting it that way. Tripp's conviction would be a great start to these festivities. FYI, the reason Tripp was told by Radio Shak that it was illegal was because Radio Shak was selling a telephone taping device IN MARYLAND where taping is illegal under state law. It is store policy to so inform all customers purchasing these taping devices. As for the argument that you were not informed about taping being illegal, don't be a dolt. You weren't BECAUSE IT'S NOT ILLEGAL WHERE YOU LIVE. Tripp was caught red-handed, and I can't wait until she starts lying lying lying like she always does. Great work Starr! Doughboy.
