INTC is not so weak but because everybody and their brother is taking potshots at the big guy on the hill, they will always be a target to be taken down. Just this am in the WSJ, the consortium if you can call them that, of IBM, HP, and CPQ, no liteweights in their own right, have requested Intl to "endorse their circuitry design instead* of Intel's planned design."* Have little fear they have a second step to this negotiation up their sleeve. IBM is already manufacturing the AMD chip, and NSM is a viable provider of chips (Cyrix,) that will gladly accommodate these folks. Intel, imho, might have little choice in the matter and once they acquiesce to this trio a process of redirected control will have begun in earnest. Be careful with how much power we continue to view Intel to be able to maintain. While this giant is truly a giant in its industry it has too much power for its own good in the eyes of its customer base. They will not allow Intel to continue to dominate without regular and consistent challenge. It's only a matter of time. IMHO Unless Intel has that next breakthrough! R
