As for morality being ridiculous one need look no further than the general decay which has occurred over the last 40 years to see the effectiveness of liberal morality. AIDS is not the product of an overly prude populace. A 70% black unwed pregnancy rate is not the result of conservative morals in action. Inner city crime and the ensuing decay is not the fault of the church goer nor the fault of his/her beliefs. These failings have come on the heels of 'liberal progressives' and their policies.

Your analysis of these societal ills is overly simplistic and shows your need to put them in a neat little box with a bow on it and deliver it as a liberal problem.

Get a clue.

>>Do you actual mean that a family values oriented platform is stupid?

Well that depends on what you consider the family values platform to be. If it is what I think it is, which is, advocating a nuclear family as the only acceptable one (mom, dad and kids etc), with some underlying subtext of "one parent stays home", then yes I think it is stupid.

It has not been economically feasible for 2 decades.

Well Jim,

clear from your post that it is the liberal who exhibits the vitriol in the course of the discussion.

How timely to have this discussion. You know I was on the right wing thread today, making an argument that perhaps Hillary had no knowledge of the corruption of the cattle futures contracts profits she made, based on the possible structure of the acct and type of investment vehicle etc. Well Im trying to be "tolerant" here I guess you could say. Theres a possibility she might not have known, and I want to give her the benefit of the doubt. But the right wing people, will they do that? NO!!!! They actually insulted my knowledge of investments in their obnoxious attempt to quelch my argument (actually, it is they that are naive about investments, completely ignorant, I would say). But they are quick to judge her, in the classic holyer than thou conservative stance. I suggest you read the right wing thread for an example of vitriol and remember, it is not I that say one should not behave that way.
