Skeeter,

They are cutting production in the 16 mb and 64mb PC66 DRAM chips where they were always having a difficult time making money. Maybe MU "IS" one of the low cost manufacturers for those products.

As far as PC100 products go, not all suppliers are able to compete in this product line b/c of its complexity. Also many SEA'ians do not have the funds to keep up with the technology. You have to notice now that it is only going to get worse as the DRAM technology quickly changes leaving many in the dust. There will probably be only a handful of large memory companies producing the following RDRAM and beyond.

Skeeter,

Only strongest among weak chips will be winners:
SamSung in Korea, NEC in Japan and MU in US.

You'll never see bull's logic, but I tried. ^_-

skeeter,
Let me assure you they will not ramp production 33%. The opposite will happen, they want to reduce output and stabilize the price and get it back to break even first and then to a point where they can make a small profit. The DRAM market players are all in pain, and must streamline and reduce costs, so they will become more efficent over time and reduce one more supplier in the market.
Good trading.
