barbara, maybe you were right, but i just bought more cien right now. it is true they had an awful qt. losing some customer, profit margin was down, next qt will be a disappointment also; the merger deal was off. due to all the bad news now you can get this company at $13. if you are a long term investor, you look ahead one year to 5 years. cien has the tech and products some other big companies are looking for. this is the bottom line. the price could go down further, but i do not care. i usually can never catch the peak to sell and bottom to buy. but i am happy that i can get cien at this price level. no pain no gain.

The tape didn't know. It was the tape that caused it to happen. If shorts and shareholders had not sold, the deal would have still been on. TLAB said the deal was called off because the shareholders would not have approved, not because of lost sales or lack of a strategic fit.

CIEN will be scooped up by another suitor. TLAB will have missed its opportunity.
