I was just about to point out the tight necking down of the trading range for the cash SPX. A significant breakout one way or the other seems highly likely within the next several hours.

Still short..1030.33 is the P8*Stop into 12:30.

re:CYMI, well I really thought we would get a bottom in the semi biz before year end. But now it looks like next Spring if not next Fall. This is what a friend of mine at A BIG semi equip company had to say the other day. He had be fairly optimistic only a month or so ago:

"My guess for AXXXX is: next two quarters 450-500M (down from 600M this
quarter...which is down from 1.2B last year). Potential lay-off in January
of 750-1500. The seminconductor business will probably see a ray of hope
some time next year ... late spring, early summer at the soonest. I don't
expect the business to skyrocket, but speculators will help to boost XXXX
up at times.
The world economy is the big factor. If it continues downward, don't expect
the semiconductors to pull out of the mud as quickly as predicted.

I want out of the semi business.

I'm doing the "I've just turned thirty this year and don't like the
direction that I've taken in life" re-assessment routine.

Short at 42

Partly because of something in a pattern I looked at; but my confidence was strengthened by a comment from T. Williams who also sold around there.

His stops are much tighter than mine, though.

Also, it coincided with something from Camp so what the heck. If it's a loser, then I will be gone until tomorrow. I don't trade after 2 losers in a single day.

EDIT It has to be moving in my direction by 12:20 ET. or I'll close it.
