Giraffe: Just because you have the freedom of speech doesn't mean everyone else has lost their freedom to exclude you from their discussions when you misbehave. That's also a sacred right. Yes, I think SI has become such an integral part of some of our lives, including mine, that we have a communal sense of ownership. Some of that is due to the ease of access we have to the founders and their obviously democratic attitudes, and some simply to the open access history of the 'net'. Nevertheless, we do not own SI and SI has the right to exercise their freedom of expression by disenfranchising whomever they choose. peter
