Clinton has most certainly not injured the structure of government or tarnished the INTEGRITY of the political office.

Nixon most certainly did. He joined and headed a conspiracy to obtain illegal advantage in the election by hiring burglary to raid the opposing party's campaign headquarters, and used the apparatus of the state, including the IRS, FBI and CIA to destroy his political enemies.

Clinton committed the smallest, least consequential, and most forgivable of all imaginable perjuries. It would never, ever be prosecuted in a private individual.

Thunderous moralists about the dangers to the nation from this petty little low crime are wholly unconvincing.
