Bev,

I have used the beta index a long time.. I'm not sure how it is
calculated on the NYSE, because by defination, the beta of an
individual stock is it's relative movement versus all the stocks
over a certain time frame.. So I assume, the beta of the NYSE is the
RELATIVE movement of all the stocks versus it's past movement over
some recent time period, A type of VIX, if you will..

It is my primary indicator as the first look.

BTW, after the close today, I looked at my charts, the 3' beta, being
the first.. and seen I am still looking short.. All the bantering
on SI sometimes causes me to lose my focus..

I am manic-depressive when it comes to posting.. Some how I can not
post continously..

Good luck...... the Coug,.. still runnin and funnin in the low Sierras..
