If on shore when a storm comes up, I'd STAY ashore. If already at sea I'd stay AWAY from shore for fear of running aground.

An interesting point. So if I read you right, you are saying that if you are already in the middle of a volatile market and holding on to large positions, your best bet for survival is to trade away as fast as you can to recoup the losses. I can live with that. But you'd better be one heck of seaman to weather the storm and not sink with the ship. Otherwise it may be better to hit the shore. You may total the ship, but you'll live to tell sea tales about it.

P.S If the bonds had sold off, say to over 7%, I'd have abandoned that ship, Great Wave or not.
