Last OTOT, Toy. I am glad to see that you know the appeal of Canada is for someone who wants something for nothing. (read The road to Serfdom) Since you can't get something for nothing, the country is going under. The only reason your economy has held up is that we are next to you.
As for murder rate, adjust it for demographics, and it's the same.

Canadian Health Care: Equal but crap!

Hi Toy. Sorry to offend you so badly in my post. I'm still smarting about how my (our) Canadian health care system has allowed a close relative to remain on a waiting list until he passed away. If he was able to be moved, he'd received the necessary treatment in a timely manner south of our border (at my expense). Since all Canadians MUST be enrolled in our giant HMO, and cannot get the care provided in a reasonably well equipped veterinarian's office without running the potentially fatal "waiting list" gauntlet, we risk our lives daily as we brag about our wonderful system. I guess it IS wonderful until the day you really need it.

The difference between Canada and U.S. is that the Canadians view themselves as subject and those in the U.S. view themselves as citizens. I think this explains quite a lot. PW.

P.S.

Just caught the noon news about thousands of gun owners parading in Ottawa over having their property confiscated without compensation and something about this law based on bogus statistics. What's the UN say about that?
