<OT> JD, was it you that was interested in enterprise software... psft, sap, vntv etc? I dont remember who asked me from here. There are some very knowledgeable people from the software arena on SI every day, some are founders of these companies. However I am negative on the whole sector... but I can point you to some of them if you want, maybe they think otherwise now that every stock has been cut in half minimum.

Michelle

What could be more childishly simplistic than to expect that money raised by the Federal government out of your middle class paycheck is ever going to come back to you in any shape manner or form, Johnathan C. Doeknob

Johnathan - you really think it is wise to let politicians take your money in the hopes it will come back to you? What a foolish investment strategy.

The "programs" supported from the left-of-center liberals like Bill and Hillary Clinton have done little to actually address the root problems they want to throw our money at. Bureaucracies are inherently inefficient and their real purpose is to perpetuate themselves as wealth-redistribution machines.

The closer we, as a country are moved by people like Bill Clinton to an economy with this kind of social-engineering tax and program mentality, the more we will start looking like a "managed" economy. Guess what? Those have been utter disasters.

You may not think he has done anything personally against you. I think you're letting your decision to vote for him blind you. I find him morally bankrupt an untrustworthy as a person, but more disturbing, I find his socialistic tendencies alarming not only for me, but for my children and the generations to follow.

Clinton didn't create this economy; Presidential power rarely has that kind of affect, but if he were to exercise his judgement without the restraint of a conservative congress, you can kiss your "middle class" lifestyle goodbye as most of us step down toward the lowest common denominator.

JMO.

Mr. K.

Take responsibility Johnathan, you are selling out to Bill for personal gains. Justify it however you want.

<<Why should I feel he has personally done anything against me? You have a childish simplistic expectation about the role of the President it seems. You can't diferentiate his role from some yokal you might have over for Sunday dinner.>>

This is America it's not a kingdom. His role is my representative. He has a role that embodies the highest level of public trust any one human being can assume in this country. And yet because this is America he is held to the exact same standard of personal integrity that I expect from the yokal I have over for diner. I will entrust that yokal with my life and wellfare. Not Bill. He is a liar and a very, very good one.

He pointed his finger in your face and lied. He did it with every ounce of sincerity he could muster. He's lying to you still. You know he's lying to you. He knows you know he is lying to you. He is banking that you will not only go along with it because you are terrorized by the fear of what would happen if right wingers dominated the government, so that you will ignore it and continue to support him.

Now he is redefining your common sense for you. What do you think you owe this guy, that you will let him tell you how to think. Are we going to authorize a new breed of government officials? Should their platform to us be don't think, rethink, we'll tell you what you can think?

I want the liberties founded in the American constitution and I will never sell my personal integrity in the process. There are plenty of bullies who would like to silence those in a weaker position. My voice is not for sale at any price.

What happens when we allow deceit to become an accepted, mode of operation within the infrastructure of our system? No one knows, who the real spinners are. Their efforts are relatively invisible. Sincere people, trying to deal with each other in the visible, straight forward sense get kicked. We begin suspecting, accusing and attacking each other. That is the true harm in dealing with an issue of deceit. I don't believe any greater harm can come to a community than allowing a lie, a thief, or falsehood in general to remain as an element in their midst. It is always the innocents who suffer most from the mistrust that ensues.

Some people are fond of saying they all (politians) do it. There is a difference in suspecting they all do it and when knowing it is occurring, authorizing it. It is then that we sanction the group think, rethink, tell us what to think society. Of course, this move could only come across in the midst of a very charismatic leader at the helm. This is not idealistic, it is pragmatic and way beyond the Clinton period of the American story. One way or another this episode is going to drive our history for some time to come.

Bottom line Johnathan. Let's not put it on Bill. At what price do you sell your personal integrity. My children will want to know why my generation sold out and if I went along with it. I'm not going to blame Bill. I will blame people like you.
