What is your opinion of ASND going forward assuming that Lucent decides to take someone else to the dance and they have to go it alone? There are quite a number of potential targets and ASND management may not be at all receptive to a Lucent offer. Sometimes cultures and top management in particular just do not make a good match ... lots of ego at that level.

Besides COMS and NN, other potential targets that have been mentioned include Siemens AG's telecom unit, Nokia, and Ericsson.

One concern I am sure a lot of us share is that ASND's stock may suffer a big hit should Lucent announce a big acquisition or two with no mention of ASND.
