Congratulations to all on an informative and helpful thread...first time here but have bookmarked...working from home affords me the time to stay on top of swings and often trade them if I believe the company to be a victim of (short-lived) shorts (read: analysts under pressure to downgrade from their investment banking colleagues)...

PSFT and Newcourt Credit Group are on my list to watch without blinking for the short term...5 days average. For those interested in another ... you may wish to do some research on SLM Software (ESP - tse). I bought in at 14, 11, 5.90 and now it's 4.65 Cdn$. Has a low P/E, excellent earnings and a worldwide client base consisting of foreign banking institutions. Their latest foray is introducing the first ATM banking system in Iran for millions of Muslims. Their organization in Toronto is a mini United Nations...their strength in tapping underdeveloped countries and bringing them into the 20th century, although their core client base in North America is also growing at a rapid pace. Right now they are on the acqusition trail and the next quarters should begin to see major incremental revenues as a result of their recent stragegy of acquring cheap companies and turning them around within two quarters.

I get most of my info from Canada Stock Market Reporter...let me know if you have interest in my posting some web pages. Here's their latest earnings report, for starters...a highly undervalued company.

PS - Tide, do you also follow Newcourt and SLM? These may offer even better returns, IMO, than Pender Capital!

Jon, I concur with all that you've said, including your thanks to Tom for his effort. I read those comments very carefully, and have come to the conclusion that I will add to my PSFT. Unfortunately, that means selling something else. I think I'll use the weekend to figure that out.

TTFN,
CTC

It's a losing battle to fight against the analysts and more often than not they are CORRECT in their calls. Most people just like to focus on their miscalls.

Forget about manipulation or dishonesty. It's all overblown by small investors and it is almost always the rational small investors use to stay in BAD stocks. I'm not saying PSFT is a bad stock. In fact it looks might good at these prices. I'm just not buying since I suspect what the analysts are saying might very well be true.

Any public announcements from PSFT, or are they in the quiet period?
